| Site of the renowned Britt Festival that draws thousands of music lovers each summer, Jacksonville is set in the scenic Rogue Valley less than 30 minutes from Ashland and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Architecturally restored to reflect its Gold Rush-era boom days (thanks to the documentation of photographer Peter Britt), this charming town is home to the Magnolia Inn, an inviting inn with a bed and breakfast flavor. Centrally located across the street from the Jacksonville Museum, the 9-bedroom Magnolia Inn is just a 2 block walk from the downtown's numerous buildings on the National Historic Registry and various Restaurants and quaint shops. |

Jacksonville is located just over the California and Oregon border of I-5. Jacksonville is an 11 hour drive north from Los Angeles and 5 hour drive north from San Francisco and Sacramento. There are direct, 2 hour, flights from LAX and other major cities. Portland is located just 4 1/2 hours north on I-5, while Seattle is 7 hours north of Jacksonville. To reach Jacksonville from the South take I-5 over the CA/OR border and exit at Exit 24 and turn left. Turn right on Hwy 99 and proceed to South Stage Road. Turn left on South Stage and follow the signs to Jacksonville. After entering Jacksonville, turn right at the first stop (be careful - oncoming traffic does not stop), and proceed 2 blocks. We will be on your left, across from the Museum. To reach Jacksonville from the North, exit I-5 South at Exit 30 (Crater Lake Hwy). Turn right and proceed to the end - a "T". Turn left on Hanley Road and continue into Jacksonville, where the street name changes to 5th Street. We are on the right, one block past "Ray's Supermarket". You may also reach Jacksonville from the Northern California / Southern Oregon Coast by taking US-199 to Grants Pass where it merges with 1-5 South, and continue south to the Medford area. |
